What is it?
The Toolkit is a searchable database of parenting interventions designed to provide information and guidance for commissioners,
service managers and programme developers on the quality and effectiveness of parenting programmes/approaches.
What does it tell us about programme quality?
Each programme is listed as either NAPR (National Academy for Parenting Research) or SELF-RATED.
Programmes are initially listed as self-rated and once rated by NAPR these ratings will be replaced by NAPR quality ratings.
Each programme is evaluated using the Parenting Programme Evaluation Tool (PPET).
Using the PPET, programmes are rated on a 5 point scale (where 4 is high and 0 is low) on 4 main elements common to high quality programmes.
Who provides the information?
The information about the programmes and approaches which appear on the Toolkit has been provided by the developers.
Programme abstracts have been edited by NAPR in order to ensure consistency of information.
Programmes can be submitted free for inclusion in the Toolkit.
